Has more or less disappeared. Such a shame. I was looking at something MSN posted this morning about glamorous films and Audrey Hepburn was in 3, Marylin in 2 and there were a good choice of others. Audrey was elegance personified, even in "The Nun's Story" walking around in a habit, and don't let's forget "My Fair Lady", breathtaking.....
The so called stars we have today look for the most time, when caught on camera, like something the cat's brought home on a bad night and probably smell as bad. They mostly wear too little, I'm talking about the women here..on second thoughts, some men too, or overdo the bling and look like walking Christmas trees, and they have what is called a "stylist???". hhhmmmm The men can't find anything else except a shirt hanging over their trousers, the inevitable bloody jeans, stubble, YUK. NO thank you. OK, men don't have to wear suits all the time, but there is so much more out there than jeans! Adn you look a lot nicer without the facial fuzz... it's dirty looking.
And then we have to take into consideration the amount of Botox, nips, tucks, pulls and tweaks, but this has spread to the men too. Where's the glamour? We see " Paris getting raunchy in Paris" Is this a double entendre or is Miss Hilton just being her usual annoying self? Then we get endless things about the poor mans Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox, Kim Kardashian, who is this woman??? do I want to know??? does she actually do something?? etc.
Where has glamour gone? I used to wear beautiful cocktail dresses and jewellery when going out at a weekend or to parties, and wish those days would come back, because my clothes are sitting in a wardrobe looking very glum. Yes, I know times have changed, but sitting here, watching this endless parade of flesh and tacky behaviour, quite frankly, I liked it all better before.
Good, isn't it.......
