Irreverence...,

Exactly. Just focus on the nonsense I am going to write about!
I found some marvellous headlines and these are my interpretations of them.

One armed man applauds the kindness of people.....I am imagining this.....

Protect Porpoises.... absolutely, especially the ones I have found swimming about merrily in my back garden after the torrential rain we have had.  They are watched by the cats and have now a following from all the neighbours. I will be sorry when they leave.

Mayor Parris to homeless... Go home ...

Missippi's literacy programme shows improvement. This was how it was written in the paper, not by me!

Homicide victims rarely talk to police.  DUH.....

Sewage spill kills fish but water safe to drink. I wonder what they are trying to tell us here? anyone know because I sure as hell can't work it out!

And the all time favourite: Miracle cure kills 5 patients. There;s nothing to say really, is there!

Good, isn't it....

Well, if I must....

After a rather long break, where all sorts of things, some good, some not so, have happened, I'm back. Not with a vengeance though.
2012 was not a fantastic year really, was it? Dreadful fires, storms, floods, killings, epidemics, mistreatment people and animals ( never ending subject that one)... the list seems to be endless.
However, there were some small lights, in fact a few rather big ones with a hell of a whomp! I'm talking of Queen Elizabeth of England's Jubilee year celebrations, and her subjects did her proud. Marvellous pageantry, wonderful outpouring of affection, some great street festivals and concerts taking place, especially at the front of Buckingham Palace and then the fantastic Olympic Games followed by the Paralympics, and this was all in London. What a great summer that was, it pushed all the suffering and hardship to one side and showed the world what one small country can do. Of course her Majesty was rather good with Bond in her parachuting into the stadium! Thanks Ma'am for some laughs with that..
It made a change after looking at the horrible cavorting of the never ending saga of the appalling Kardashians, Jordan and the like!
On my front, my daughter sailed through her Masters degree, I went to London in the midst of a zero degree cold spell, to see her graduate with her friends, in the pomp and ceremony which England does so very well. And then she and her fiance came to visit me for Christmas and what a celebration that was. Now we are into 2013.... what happens here? President Obama has been voted in, thank heavens, for another 4 years and maybe he can get somewhere now after all the dreadful mess he was left by the Republicans who really fell flat on their faces!
But the nonsense goes on. Yet more people getting blasted away in the USA and the morons who are up in arms at thinking they cannot live in a gun free country. Well, let me tell you something. I do. And I never live in fear. Try it sometime.

Good, isn't it...........

Age...... perish the thought.

These 2 lovely little chaps are showing me the fun of being young.... with of course, for them the chance of getting shot and eaten. Not quite so much fun.

Right, having past yet another birthday, I was sitting here pondering on my life. It's been really very full. From being born, which I don't remember to having a rather nasty weekend where 2 friends of mine were badly beaten during a burglary gone horribly wrong, my life has turned and twisted all over the place.

Age is something one doesn't want to happen, oh yes I know when one is 12 one wants to be 18, and then at 18 to 25, but from then on, it's downhill all the way! There'a a lot to be said about being born old and then going backwards. Think what fun it would be to expire as an orgasm!

Nowadays, time can be turned back quite a bit. Some overdo it TREMENDOUSLY and end up looking worse than any gargoyle. This happens to men as well as women, who started all the nonsense off. I find it amusing to still see people wandering about with their skin stretched so tightly that they can't articulate properly. Mary Tyler Moore, Faye Dunaway, Burt Reynolds and poor Mickey Rourke being 4 of them. I saw MTM the other  day on tv and hadn't a clue who she was. There was the wife of a very well known film producer here where I live, at a famous beach club and the poor dear had forgotten that although you can tighten the face, neck and boobs, what happens to the hands, knees and boomps a daisy? Not quite so good.

Anyway, to come back to age. Leave it alone, it happens, it won't go away and we will all look better if we accept the fact it is there. I told my daughter that I was fed up of her getting older each year and making me older as well. From then on, I think it was 7 years ago, I have been steadily going backwards and having more fun this way.

I will let you know when I reach the point of not return... till then...

Good, isn't it.

Religion

I am an advocate of live and let live, however I do not condone radicalism in any form, whether towards religion, race or creed. There are too many "demanding" Muslims in the world who wish us to conform to their standards but are simply not willing to conform to ours, especially when they live in a country which is not their native one.

What is the problem, when you leave, freely your country of birth and move to another, to have the inability to be integrated into it? Surely, if you move, then you hope to go to better place, with better values and hopes and aspirations. Why take the old, horrible antiquated and wrong values with you? The world HAS moved on from the 12th century and like it or not, not everyone in the world thinks, wants or needs the views which you bring with you. Children born into a "new" world, want to be accepted into this. They do NOT wish their parents to force down their throats some ridiculous way of life which is not accepted by most of the planet!

Honour killings? Killing your own daughters because they have seen with their own eyes that the world is so much better than that of their parents, with that much more to offer? How can you possibly justify the taking of your own childs life, someone who did not wish to be born but was put into the world by you!!

Of COURSE not all Muslims are like this, I am talking about a certain part of the Muslim world, the radicals in one way or the other.
'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores in July 2002, and in New York Sept 112001 and have continually threatened to do so since?

Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day in Washington, and in downtown Manhattan ,  and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of Nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the British media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a British soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:

I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take this to the bank:

I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner - who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and 'fed special food' that is paid for by my taxes - is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts:

I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, believe me!! you guessed it ......

I don't care!!

Good lord, what's happening in the world!

What with Prince Harry been snapped with his knickers off and the family jewels nearly on show for the world to see, people being mowed down yet again in the USA, Todd, the wonder rape boy, Akin,  typhoons galore, domestic violence on the rise etc. etc. I do sometimes wonder if being alive is a good option!

There have been very few things I have read about or heard on the tv which can make one really think: Good lord, what else!  Ok, I'm overdoing it... but.  When one does see something nice, we are all left with a feeling of disbelief! Thankfully there are such moments otherwise we'd all be basket cases. As it has been a very stressful weekend's start, I have seen a close friend of mine battered nearly to death by her husband, I have to leave with a funny headline.

Good, isn't it.

Back again!

My apologies for being away for such a long time.

The world has moved on, people died and new ones born in my circle of family and friends. sadness and joy go hand in hand.

I will sit and work out some new foibles of the world. The marvellous Olympics has been, seen and loved. London did itself proud. The athletes were fabulous, they show young people what dedication and hard work can do. Rather like the Queen and Prince Philip. A wonderful twosome at any age, never mind theirs.  The Queen deserved her Jubilee. She has shown her dedication to duty and to her people, however restricted in certain ways it is. I am sure she'd make a better prime minister than most that have been. She looked lovely, 85 and still going very strong. Her part in the opening of the Olympics was pure genius from Danny Boyle!

That's it for now, I will be blogging again in the next few days. Keep smiling, it may never happen

Good, isn't it.

Friends do not have to be the same.....

And as this is so beautiful, I am making no comments but just posting this for pure enjoyment. We should all learn.....and be so lucky to have such great friends.
